Peer education on smoking prevention (2008)<\/strong>Training Course – Yia 3.1<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u201cPeer Education on Smoking Prevention\u201d was a training project on experiential,non-formal learning concerning smoking prevention\"SP-Poster1\" among youngsters. It was addressed to youth workers, who will become peer educators and they performed similar activities in their countries of origin.The project, therefore, was expected and managed to a)provide the participants with the essential knowledge and skills, so that they will then b) update and improve the current applicable smoking prevention models.The project\u2019s inter-cultural implementation basis fostered, primarily, c) mutual respect among the participants and, furthermore, d) the incentive for further cooperation on the theme of smoking prevention among the\u00a0partner Organizations.The proposed project aspired to meet and promote the above focal points through the placement of 29 beneficiaries. The planning question took place in Chalkidiki for the period of 25\/08\/2007 to 31\/08\/2007.\u00a0<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Fight for Life: Peer education on AIDS prevention(2009)<\/strong>Training Course -YiA 4.3<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Peer Education on AIDS Prevention: Fight for life was a training project on experiential, non-formal learning concerning AIDS \"FfL-Poster\"prevention among youngsters. It was addressed to youth workers, who would become peer educators and perform similar activities in their countries of origin.
\nThe project, therefore, was expected and managed to:
\na) Effect changes in knowledge, attitudes, beliefs and behaviours at the individual level.
\nb) Create change at the societal level by modifying norms and stimulating collective action, as well as contributing to changes in policies and programmes.
\nc) Share ideas from international point of view on the theme of AIDS.
\nd) Reinforce mutual respect among the participants and, furthermore,
\ne) Create the incentive for further cooperation on the theme of AIDS prevention among the partner Organisations.The proposed project met and promote the above focal points through the placement of 29 beneficiaries. The planning question took place in Kerkini Serres for the period of 23\/02\/2008 to 29\/02\/2008.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n<\/strong>\u00abTraining and professional guidance of health workers on smoking prevention\u00bb (2009) –\u00a0LeonardodaVinci<\/strong>The innovative project was implemented in the frame of the Leonardo Da Vinci program. It dealt with smoking prevention, a significant problem for the Greek and the E.U society. It promoted the development of smoking prevention, introducing innovative strategies. The project corresponds to the Greek society\u2019s special needs.\u00a0 The plan was realized through the placement of 14 beneficiaries in Edinburgh for the period of 20\/03\/2009 to 26\/03\/2009.Objectives:<\/p>\n

  • The development of the participants\u2019 professional skills and the enhancement of knowledge on the preventive model<\/li>\n
  • The exchange of experience and know \u2013how in no formal education.<\/li>\n
  • The training on innovative methods which will increase the effectiveness of smoking prevention policies<\/li>\n
  • The improvement of linguistic skills on professional level<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Crash Test Revised (2010)<\/strong>Grundtvig Workshop<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u201cCrashtestrevised\u201d was a six-day training workshop on conflict management. The participants were adult learners a) from different,\"CTR-Poster3\" economic, social and cultural backgrounds, who experience conflict in different settings i.e. family, community, job etc. b) NGO volunteers and trainers on lifelong learning education (direct target group).\u00a0 The project, therefore, managed to provide the participants with the essential knowledge and personal skills, so that they would be able to transferthe new skills in their life and act as multipliers in the broad community (indirect group).The workshop was based on non- formal education, with particular emphasis on the learning by participation methodology and experiential learning. The training consisted of intense and short live activities with innovative materials, such as team work, role- playing, social stories, brainstorming, artistic creation, movement games, behavioural rehearsal, modelling, steam groups, feedback, etc. The everyday feedback procedures contributed to the evaluation of the project.The project was expected and managed to:<\/p>\n

    Crash Test Revised took place from 24-31\/3\/2010 in Kerkini, Serres, Greece.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n


\n<\/strong>Creative Interpersonal Relations (2010)<\/strong>Grundtvig Workshop<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u201cCreativeinterpersonalrelations\u201d was a six-day training workshop, based on learning by participation methodology, and\u00a0\u00a0 dealing \"cir\"\u00a0with the development of interpersonalrelations during leisure time. The participants were adult learners\u00a0 from all\u00a0 27 EU member states, Iceland , Norway, Liechtenstein( the EFTA_EEA countries) and Turkey, from different, economic, social and cultural backgrounds(direct target group).The project, assisted adult individuals to developinterpersonal relationships by experiencing activities in a safe and friendly atmosphere of the workshop.Participants were able to transfer in their own turnthe new skills in their life and act as multipliers in the broad community (indirect group).The project was expected and managed to: <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Violet Project (2011)<\/strong>Training Course \u2013 YiA 4.3<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Studies in the topic of violence reveal that there is an increasing number of incidents in the European context.\u00a0 The \u201cViolet project\"V-Poster\" \u201c, was a 6-day training project, based on non-formal education and learning by participation methodology, in the topic of violence and its prevention.\u00a0 It was addressed to youth workers from 8 countries (Italy, Estonia, Hungary, France, Poland, Greece, Sweden, and Turkey) who would become multipliers, in their countries.\u00a0 The participants learned how to use the appropriate techniques in order to avoid violence in various settings.The above-mentioned project aimed to:<\/p>\n
    \n
  • Create \/ empower personal, social and communicative skills, necessary for violence prevention;<\/li>\n
  • Encourage people to learn how to recognize and benefit from their differences;<\/li>\n
  • Reinforce mutual respect towards individual\u2019s rights and emotions;<\/li>\n
  • Reduce aggressive behaviors;<\/li>\n
  • Ensure better community functioning and effective problem solving;<\/li>\n
  • Train youngsters and professional on learning by experience (participation) methodology in a multicultural environment, so as to act as multipliers at national and international level;<\/li>\n
  • Create the incentive for further cooperation among the partner organizations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    All the programme-elements were set up to reach the objectives.\u00a0 A variety of activities such as role-playing,\u00a0\u00a0 plenary sessions, case studies, instinctive writing, artistic creation, field trips etc., were used during the training course.The daily feedback helped to evaluate the intervention.<\/p>\n

    The proposed project me and promote the above focal points through the placement of 36 youth workers.\u00a0 The Greek hosting organization, AENAO, realized the project in Serres (Lithotopos), Greece, from \u00a006 to 11 January\u00a0 2011.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Let\u2019s make politics female (2011)<\/strong>IKY Grundtvig partnership<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
A Grundtvig workshop in Finland on the topic of \u201cFemale participation in decision – making\u201d encouraged the Active Women \"FP-Poster\"Association from Poland to apply for a partnership project among Greece, Poland, Czech Republic and Finland.According to the project adult education staff like coordinators, trainers, animators and teachers would increase their level of knowledge and educational skills to promote equality and women participation in public life.The aims of the project were to:<\/p>\n
    \n
  • Develop European cooperation between different types of organizations working in the field of equal opportunities such as: associations, foundations, NGOs, public authorities at regional level.<\/li>\n
  • Create educational guidelines for activists, trainers and social animators in the field of popularization\/dissemination of gender equality knowledge.<\/li>\n
  • Exchange experience among partners from different countries and learn from more advanced societies, in the field of female participation in public life, such as Finland.<\/li>\n
  • Support the goal of gathering best practices in spreading knowledge of gender issues and methods of encouraging women to fully participate in decision making.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The project was realized in a period of 2 years with 12 mobilities for each partner organization and improved cooperation among the organizations, involved in the partnership. By the means of exchanging experience during European seminars the mobilities facilitated the development of innovative practices in adult education. Participating organizations were benefit from experiences of educational staff from other countries.<\/p>\n

    The aims of the project were fulfilled by the implementation of the following working methods and activities:<\/p>\n

    1. Partnership seminars in 4 countries with participants from Greece, Finland, Poland and Czech Republic. The seminars were focused on:<\/p>\n

    \u00fc\u00a0 discussion on the female participation in decision-making in partner countries, presentation of actions, projects and activities realized by the partners<\/p>\n

    \u00fc\u00a0 study visits in hosting organizations and other institutions.<\/p>\n

    \u00fc\u00a0 meetings with learners \u2013 experiences sharing, discussion on the tools and measures of supporting gender equality in public life,<\/p>\n

    \u00fc\u00a0 gender oriented political education and ways of effective networking of decision-makers; methods of effective lobbying<\/p>\n

    \u00fc\u00a0 support and education of women in\/to politics;<\/p>\n

    \u00fc\u00a0 exploring the educational methods such as public debates on the topic of women representation and participation in politics as well as debates about the state of political culture in respective partner countries<\/p>\n

    \u00fc\u00a0 mentoring activities, professional trainings of women politicians<\/p>\n

    2. Local activities. Each partner organized activities during the 2 years period according to the needs of the persons involved.<\/p>\n

    3. Information dissemination and sharing of the knowledge-publication and internet tool<\/p>\n

    The meetings and the agenda were as follow:<\/p>\n

    During the international meetings apart from the European partners, learners were also invited to participate in order to gain knowledge and know-how.<\/p>\n

    The project strategy assumes that less advanced countries (e.g. Czech Republic, Poland and Greece) can benefit from experiences of the countries where equal opportunities have been on the top of the agenda for a long time (Finland). Thanks to exchanging experience within the partnership all the participants from various organizations may develop their competencies and gain new approaches of their educational tasks, programmes, methods, and activities.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Captain Cook (2011)<\/strong>Youth Exchange \u2013 YiA 1.1<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
In recent years while political, economic and social relationships have been extensively tested, mankind neglects the key cultural \"cc\"factors, such as food and its importance. The modern way of living has resulted in transforming the eating process from an opportunity for social interaction to a fast, isolated and individualized process.\u00a0 However, the consumption of food is an important presupposition for the accomplishment of three significant functions. Firstly, eating is important for the survival of human beings because it provides the necessary energy for the body functioning.\u00a0 Moreover, the type of food that is consumed determines, among other factors, the health status of each individual.\u00a0 The third function of eating is that provides pleasure, and emotional comfort (e.g. reduces anxiety).The multilateral youth exchange aimed to promote the three functions that constitute the \u201ceating well\u201d process, by addressing the social importance of eating, the necessity for changing eating patterns, not only as a means to preserve our health status, but also as a way of promoting sustainable development due to the rapid environmental changes that affect our eating habits and our health.Different methodologies, such as group work, role-playing, artistic creations, and plenary discussions supported the experiential learning, which applied in non- formal educational settings, focusing on the individualized needs of the participants and encouraging them to share their experiences. 39 beneficiaries from 6 countries (Italy, Turkey, Estonia, Slovenia, Spain, and Greece) met together in Naousa for a period of 7 days (18-24 of August 2011).Through this youth exchange the participants succeeded to:<\/p>\n

  • Get informed on Mediterranean diet and promote it<\/li>\n
  • Gain knowledge and experience on healthy food<\/li>\n
  • Change attitude towards eating patterns and make healthy choices<\/li>\n

  • Act as multipliers in their local settings<\/li>\n
  • Create\u00a0 a European network and exchange experience concerning healthy food<\/li>\n

\n<\/strong>Environment and volunteering (2012)<\/strong>Training Course \u2013 YiA 4.3<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
NGO AENAO implemented in Thessaloniki from 20 to 26 April 2012 the project \u201cEnvironment and volunteering\u201d in the frame of the\"EV-Poster2\" Youth in Action (sub-action 3.1.2) program. It was addressed to 39 youths from Croatia, Hungary, Turkey, Estonia, Latvia, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Armenia and Belarus, from different economical, social and cultural backgrounds.The project aimed to raise awareness on environmental topics and the protection of our planet. In addition, it inspired the sense of volunteerism, a true value that is required in order to change our way of living and make it better.The TC was based on non- formal education and particular emphasis was given on the learning by participation methodology and experiential learning, through innovative methods such as team work, role- playing, brainstorming etc. The implemented activities included topics such as 3R, climate change, sustainability, water management. Furthermore, activities in nature assisted to increase the awareness on volunteering to protect the environment. The project was expected to assist individuals to develop their skills by experiencing activities in a safe and friendly atmosphere. The specific project emphasized on the individualized needs of the participants and encouraged them to share their experiences, in an attempt to familiarize them with concepts such as volunteerism, acceptance of cultural diversity and equal opportunities for personal development.At the end of the seminar the participants managed to:\u2022 Increase knowledge on the environmental topics\u2022 Raise awareness on volunteering\u2022 Build on personal skills and modify attitudes on volunteerism and environmental protection\u2022 Suggest and adopt techniques to protect environment\u2022 Exchange experience and know \u2013 how\u2022 Co \u2013formulate innovative strategies and utilize them in the local communities\u2022 Encourage partnership among the participating countriesThe overall outcome was achieved from the participants because they managed to transfer on their own turn the new skills in their daily life and act as multipliers in the broad community.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Youth & the City: Building our Future (2012)<\/strong>Youth Democracy Project 1.3<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Nowadays, more than any other time, humanity experiences the consequences of financial globalization, one of them being youth\"YC-covers\" unemployment.The project \u201cYouth & the City: Building our Future\u201d, which lasted for 12 months and was funded by the YOUTH IN ACTION program sub-action 1.3, attempted to encourage youth participation in the decision- making process at local level, and to contribute to the establishment of a long- lasting communication and exchange of information between the youth and the local authorities.Experiential learning, which applies in non- formal educational settings, was used to achieve the above-mentioned goals. One of the advantages of experiential learning is the emphasis on the individualized needs of the participants and the encouragement of sharing experiences. The project was completed through 3 phases: 30 beneficiaries from 7 countries (Italy, Turkey, Spain, Bulgaria, Romania, Cyprus and Greece) met together in Naousa for a period of 7 days (5- 11 of March 2012) to explore the basic concepts of active citizenship in the decision-making process. The beneficiaries acted as multipliers, implementing a two days seminar in their own countries. The preparation and the implementation of the dialogue between youth and the local authorities aimed at raising issues as employability and the evaluation of the outcomes: After nine months in a two-days meeting (3 & 4 of November) with two representatives from each country (one member of NGO and one representative of local authorities) there was a discussion on the progress that has been made and suggestions for new measures came up.The participants:\uf0fcBuilt their personal skills on active citizenship and they became aware of the community development in local settings, especially raising issues of youth unemployment,\uf0fcwere involved in the decision making process at local level,\uf0fcstarted a long- lasting communication and exchange of information with the local authorities,\uf0fcbuilt networks at local, regional and European level to start dealing with the topic of employability,\uf0fcpromoted their participation in the democratic procedures within the local authority,Each country shaped its needs and the following structures were established:@Greece, a local youth observatory@Italy, Youth forum@Cyprus, Spain and Romania, youth councils@Turkey young students from the universities raised the issue of employment to the local authorities<\/p>\n

The overall outcome of the project was that there was a progress at all countries in the dialogue and communication between youths and the local governments in fighting unemployment.<\/p>\n

Last but not least educational material was produced for further dissemination of the project\u2019s outcomes.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Pose it Up! (2013)<\/strong>Youth Exchange \u2013 YiA 1.1<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
The achievements of human development, such as technological evolution, better quality of life, recognition of human rights are \"Pose_it_Up_A3_Telikoamong the most significant factors of the modern life. They are all important to keep us going in this crucial period and to ensure a better future. However, we need to focus on what seems to be forgotten and taken for granted the values of life! It is because of these values that every human being is entitled to have certain standards of living and expect to be treated rightfully and with respect. Furthermore, these values are reflecting our character, thus we need to identify values that are meaningful to us. \u201cIt\u2019s all about our values. Pose it up!\u201d\u00a0 Project aims to raise awareness on the values of European Union and their importance in our lives and at the same time to encourage the adjustment in an integrated multicultural society. To achieve the afore-mentioned goals we will use tools that allow youth to be creative, such as dance and photography and offer them a chance to take a glance in history of EU, which they will use it as means to ensure their future.Pose it Up! is nine-days training course based on experiential learning, which is applied in non- formal educational settings, focusing on the individualised needs of the participants and encouraging them to share their experiences, in an attempt to familiarise them with concepts such as volunteerism, European citizenship, acceptance of cultural diversity and equal opportunities for personal development. The potential participants are people (18- 30 years old) from all 27 EU member states, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein (the EFTA- EEA countries), Switzerland, Croatia and Turkey, from different social, economic and cultural backgrounds.The project was expected to:<\/p>\n

  • Use social theatre as a tool to approach the topic of cultural values<\/li>\n

  • Provide the knowledge to participants to act as multipliers in national and international level<\/li>\n
  • Provide the opportunity to socially excluded youth to participate in non-formal educational settings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
