On October 2023 (25-28/10/2023) the topic of 2024 European Parliament elections was celebrated in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. Participants from the ACT Stronger project and domestic associations met together in order to discuss and share information and knowledge on 2024 European Parliament elections and democratic process.
The 6th international event initiated by organising a story hunt on “Europe in Veliko Tarnovo – Shared values, shared future”. The participants visited the hall where Bulgaria’s first democratic Constitution was adopted and the UNESCO heritage site of Arbanassi village.

The meeting continued by the formation of 7 working groups which in turn would present their findings and create the Citizen’s Europe e-paper. Participants from the partner countries, Bulgarian NGOs, Europe Direct, EDC Network, educators, young people and journalists joined together in order to develop the working groups which focused on the topics of Climate Change/European Green Deal, e-democracy, Young and old people inclusion, COVID-19 and solidarity, Disinformation and media literacy, Equality in Europe, Migration & Security.

The event continued with the participants getting part in a simulation called “European Elections 2024”. Prof. Ingrid Shikova, founder of the European Studies Department at Sofia University and a long-time pioneer of the BG integration process, regulated the simulation.
